Postpartum Doula Services
Looking for some extra support after birth? After 10 years as a postpartum doula and supporting all of her birth clients with postpartum care, Elika is now offering this service virtually in addition to Soulful Wellness Guidance ( combines yoga, Ayurveda,and lifestyle guidance). She can provide much needed support about how to offer families loving care to baby while you rest, supporting early childhood development through massage and engaging with baby through yoga, songs, storytime and play. She also offers support with breastfeeding and nutrition, guidance for physical healing through yoga and emotional support, as well as resources for body work for sore muscles and relaxation in-home or in a facility if desired. Prenatal Yoga
This class is based on Elika’s training in Whole Birth Yoga® which utilizes yoga poses, including dance in a supportive class environment designed to educate moms about pregnancy, while reducing discomforts and instilling confidence in pregnant mamas.
Trained as a Whole Birth® Yoga instructor, Birth/Postpartum Doula, Elika brings her vibrant energy and uplifting presence to pregnant/postpartum women weekly at Namaste Yoga. Her classes have a warm sense of community and allows them to be supported and nurtured to assist them in relaxing more, letting go of fears in order to fully embrace the life growing inside with confidence and courage. Whole Birth® Yoga poses are taught with an emphasis on mindfulness for increasing breath and body awareness, learning pain management, prenatal bonding, deep relaxation and working with one’s edge. The mindful strengthening, stretching and balancing practices bring more grace and ease to the body at a time of rapid and unpredictable changes. Low back and sciatic pain, insomnia, swelling and other general discomforts have responded well to regular practice. Since we can’t think our way through labor, prenatal yoga is a perfect way to drop beneath the thinking mind and into the “body-mind” – the innate cellular intelligence that brings our babies into the world. Through the practice of yoga we awaken the body-mind and become familiar with its intuitive language. Whole Birth® Yoga teaches us to listen deeply to and trust in our body’s innate birthing wisdom. Many teachers often hear their students say, “I didn’t remember a thing from my childbirth classes. What really helped me in labor was what I learned in this class!” Weekly classes online through Yoga Jubilee and 60 or 75 minute Private sessions available. |
Mom & Baby Yoga
Elika’s Mama & Baby Yoga classes provide the same mindfulness-based focus and sense of community as prenatal, and often can be more valuable as mothers maneuver themselves through the joys and challenges of being a new parent. Classes include baby massage, poses to strengthen and stretch upper body, tone the core, and always focus on restoring strength and balance to the pelvic floor. You will dance, sing and meditate with your baby to bond, cultivate joy and vitality, strength and restore the depleted energy or “juice” often lost after birth, referred to as rasa in Ayurvedic Medicine. 60 or 75 minute Group/Private sessions available.
BlissfulBirth Preparation Course
This workshop will prepare couples to have more confidence about the birth experience through education and practicing various birth scenarios. Partner will come away feeling like they can be “daddy/partner doula” if they feel comfortable with that role. Moms will feel more supported emotionally and physically by their partner, which has been proven to improve birth outcomes. You and your partner will learn effective tools to support you through an empowering birth experience and enhance the mother’s connection with their innate body wisdom. You will learn about the process of birth and clarify birth preferences ( if desired) practice labor and birth positions, massage, breathing, pain management techniques, visualization for birth and experience a deep relaxation method called Yoga Nidra. Private Yoga Sessions
If you feel like group classes aren’t satisfying check out how a personalized session can benefit you. Balance mind, body and spirit through asanas (poses), breath and meditation, allowing Elika to guide you in a practice to emphasize any areas needing special attention. You can focus on any style of yoga/fitness you would like and sessions can be arranged in-home, business or at another convenient location. $111-200 per session, depending on location or via Zoom, inquire about packages

Bellydancing Mamas
This is a unique collaboration by Elika and Belly Dancer/Mama, Erica Cecilia, creating a fun and nourishing class for the body + soul and of course the hips, back and pelvic floor! Prenatal belly dancing is an amazing way to not only feel amazing in yout body, but also ease discomforts, promote optimal fetal positioning, while allowing you to move with more strength and grace as you blossom.
Erica (stage name Shaddia) has been belly dancing for the past ten years focusing on various styles of the dance from folky to modern. She has performed all over the bay area and abroad. In October 2015 she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and can attest to how belly dance helped her through her labor experience.

A style of Hatha Yoga which links breath and movement in a creative and liberating practice incorporating Prana Flow yoga, as taught by Shiva Rea. Increased strength and mental focus are gained through this challenging practice as you flow in a mindful way to enhance overall vitality and the natural state of bliss in mind, body, spirit. This can be taught at a Basic level with more alignment focus. Schedule 60 or 75 minute Private Sessions online or in-person.

Take a BlissBreak with Elika if you're in the Raleigh-Durham and let her design practical, stress-relieving techniques for your employees allowing them greater capacity to cope with challenges and the daily demands of working in a fast-paced corporate environment utilizing yoga, strength training, meditation and breathing exercises. As someone who identifies as Afro-Panamian as well as African-American, I find it so comforting to see more classes led by people that look like me and that I can identify with. My experience of working in corporate America as a Sales Associate, a manager, even a Googler for a year...was not seeing many yogis that looked like me. So I now return to some of those corporations I worked full-time for, or partnered with, and share my passion for yoga, meditation and health & wellness.

You will complete a lifestyle questionnaire to target excesses/deficiencies in your body/mind and then receive guidance on creating balance through dietary changes, fitness, and meditation.

Workshops/retreats
